One month ago, an unexpected accident transformed the life of Alan Stockman, owner of Stockman Jiu-Jitsu. During our Jiu-Jitsu in Rio Camp in Rio de Janeiro, Alan experienced a serious incident while at Ipanema Beach, resulting in a spinal cord injury known as Central Cord Syndrome. This injury initially left him paralyzed in both his upper and lower limbs, creating a challenging and uncertain road ahead.
Despite the severity of his injury, Alan has shown extraordinary resilience and determination in his recovery journey. Supported by his family, friends, and the entire Stockman Jiu-Jitsu community, he has made remarkable strides in his healing process. Although his recovery journey is far from over, both Alan and his medical team are confident in a full recovery.
In his words, this experience has been a powerful reminder of the strength that lies within community support, positivity, and perseverance. Alan’s journey is more than just a personal story; it’s a testament to the incredible power of resilience and optimism in the face of life’s challenges.
